Sourced from The Galway Sheep Breeder's Association, this Galway combed top comes from purebred Galway sheep with a registered pedigree. Galway is a rare heritage breed native to Ireland - despite its broad use, there are fewer than 2000 breeding ewes in the world, The Galway Wool Co-Op aims to protect and promote the breed while offering full transparency into their supply chains.
The fiber itself is a warm, lustrous white, with a 5"+ staple length and micron count around 30. Traditionally use in Aran knitwear, it makes a great option for outerwear as well as garments needing more strength and durability.
